Rev. Mike Atzert
Pastor Mike joined the KMPC family on July 1, 2013. A graduate of Widener University and Princeton Theological Seminary, Mike served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Blackwood for 10 years before coming to KMPC. Prior to sensing God’s call to full time ministry, Mike worked in both banking and the hotel/restaurant industries. His ministry focus is to encourage the body of Christ to “rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15). He has a heart for mission, youth, and getting the church out into the community. Away from the church, Mike enjoys cooking, reading, being with family, and spending time at his favorite vacation spot, Webster Lake, NH. He is married to Amy and has two daughters, Emily & Jenna.
Chris has worked as an office manager/administrator for over 20 years. She is a charter member of Living Waters Lutheran Church in Ringoes and has been their volunteer secretary for many years. She and her husband Jim have lived in Neshanic Station for 30 years. She has two sons; Erich works as a Network Consultant in Branchburg and Jason is a Sr. Airman currently stationed at Eglin AFB in Florida.
Worship Band Director
Jim earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from the College of New Jersey in 1999. He taught music education to students in grades K-4 for several years. He loves professional football, reading and science fiction. He and his wife, Michelle, have one daughter. For the music that is presented weekly, he hopes that it stirs the heart, uplifts the spirit and prepares the mind of those in the congregation to receive God’s Word.
Organist and Choir Director
Lucia began piano lessons and musical studies when she was five. Through the encouragement of her teacher, she continued to play, and in college earned a Bachelor's degree in Church Music with a major in piano and a minor in organ. She has been a substitute teacher for the Hopewell Valley school district and currently holds a music teacher certificate from the New Jersey Department of Education.
Lucia is an independent piano teacher in Pennington, and has been an active member of the Piano Teachers Forum and the American Guild of Organists. She has been married 27 years and has four wonderful children and a dog named Cherie.
Youth & Outreach Director
John grew up in KMPC and has always considered this to be his home church. He earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Raritan Valley Community College and then felt a calling into ministry. Changing paths, he studied at Messiah College and Eastern University, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Youth Ministry from Eastern. John has served on several local and international mission trips. This past October, he married Tracy who is a great helper for his ministries. In his free time you will find John enjoying hikes, the ocean and any extreme sport. His hope as Youth and Outreach Director is to encourage others to draw closer to God as they draw closer to each other.
