Rev. Mike Atzert
Pastor Mike joined the KMPC family on July 1, 2013. A graduate of Widener University and Princeton Theological Seminary, Mike served as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Blackwood for 10 years before coming to KMPC. Prior to sensing God’s call to full time ministry, Mike worked in both banking and the hotel/restaurant industries. His ministry focus is to encourage the body of Christ to “rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15). He has a heart for mission, youth, and getting the church out into the community. Away from the church, Mike enjoys cooking, reading, being with family, and spending time at his favorite vacation spot, Webster Lake, NH. He is married to Amy, has two daughters, Emily & Jenna, and a rescue dog named Auggie (who is in the office most Mondays and Thursdays).
Chris began working at KMPC in 2014. She is a charter member of Living Waters Lutheran Church in Ringoes and has been their volunteer administrator for many years. She and her husband Jim have lived in Neshanic Station for 30 years. She has two sons; Erich works as a Network Consultant in Branchburg and Jason is a USAF veteran and currently works for Northup-Grumman in California.
Worship Band Director
Jim earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Education from the College of New Jersey in 1999. He taught music education to students in grades K-4 for several years. He loves professional football, reading and science fiction. He and his wife, Michelle, have one daughter. For the music that is presented weekly, he hopes that it stirs the heart, uplifts the spirit and prepares the mind of those in the congregation to receive God’s Word.
Organist and Choir Director
Lucia began piano lessons and musical studies when she was five. Through the encouragement of her teacher, she continued to play, and in college earned a Bachelor's degree in Church Music with a major in piano and a minor in organ. She has been a substitute teacher for the Hopewell Valley school district and currently holds a music teacher certificate from the New Jersey Department of Education.
Lucia is an independent piano teacher in Pennington, and has been an active member of the Piano Teachers Forum and the American Guild of Organists. She has been married 27 years and has four wonderful children and a dog named Cherie.
Associate Director of Hospitality & Greeting
Auggie has been “working” in the church office since January 2017. He loves to greet people and welcome them to the office. He is a large presence, but do not let the size fool you – he is full of love! Auggie was rescued through St. Hubert’s Rescue in December 2016. He had a very difficult start in life, but has settled into his furever home quite nicely. Auggie is generally in the office on Monday and Thursday mornings. Please stop by and say hello!
